KEMU is a public medical university in the Pakistani city of Lahore. The university was founded in 1860 and is named after King Edward VII.
Lahore Medical School was founded by the British Raj. In 1868, the University of Dublin offered students at the Lahore Medical School “equal privileges as English school students.”
In 1871, the University established Mayo Hospital as an ancillary hospital to the existing Anarkali Dispensary. The College absorbed the Punjab University the following year, and the University added Lady Aitchison Hospital as its second teaching hospital in 1887.
Following Pakistan’s independence, the university became the province’s lone medical college and, in 2005, its degree charter. Since then, it has grown to administer seven referral hospitals, including Lady Willingdon Hospital.
Currently, KEMU is seeking Assistant Professors and Demonstrators. Anatomy, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Forensic Medicine require demonstrators.
Career possibilities are available for highly qualified people with MBBS, BDS, MDS, Ph.D., FCPS, or MS degrees and relevant experience.
This appointment will be made on a regular/contractual/ad hoc basis. The KEMU website https://kemu.edu.pk/jobs provides eligibility criteria for interested professionals. Both men and women are eligible for these positions.
